These pictures were both taken at the around the same time ~ 3 weeks. I think my kiddos look a lot a like, but different too! I love these two! I wouldn't trade them for anything...not even a full night of sleep! Happy Holidays everyone!

She is here!

Our little Olive made her big appearance on December 3, 2009. My labor was very short and I am feeling great. Logan loves the "babeee." He loves to give her kisses and remind me when she is crying! Olive was 6 lbs 10 oz. and 19 1/2 inches long. Welcome baby girl!

18 Months

Logan turned 18 months in October and is gettng to be such a big boy. He loves to play outside and go down his slide all by himself. He loves his doggies and his favorite food is blue berries. He loves to make messes by empting out my cabinets and rearranging the food in the refridgerator. He likes to help me vacuum(which isn't much help), and really enjoys "Mighty Mates" (generic lucky charms), although he really only likes the marshmellows! He had is 18 month check up on the 31st and weighed in at 24.8 lbs and is 34 inches long. Still tall and skinny. He is still quite the "momma's boy" and I fear he is going to have a hard time adjusting to his baby sister Olive when she arrives. He has started to get really jealous lately when I talk to Scott, let alone give him a hug or hold his hand. Life has been really busy lately in the Stevens' household. I have updated our pictures online, check them out (the link is to the right).

Pumkin Patch

We took Logan to the pumpkin patch for the first time this year. He had a really good time. He enjoyed playing in the corn box (sand box with corn instead of sand) and really liked looking at the "Quack quacks." We also got to take a hay ride to the pumpkin patch where he picked out his very own pumpkin. Although he wasn't a fan of all of the stickers in the pumpkin patch, I would say it was a good day over-all.

And then there were three...

or, as Scott calls it "a farm." Here is how it happened. Logan has recently been going to bed with a "puppy." I gave him it to him in hopes he would get attached and give up the binky. Well, one day the puppy got really dirty and needed a bath. In came "puppy number two." I gave Logan both puppies during one nap that way he could get used to number two while still having number one (number two is slightly different in colors and a bit smaller). So now, Logan can't sleep without number one AND number two. Then one night before bed, I saw that number two had a small rip and the stuffing was going to come out, so rather than risk Logan eating the stuffing, I gave him a stuffed lamb (I was fresh out of puppies) and puppy number one. The next morning, when Logan saw a mended puppy number two he decided that he had to have all three...Number One, Number Two and the Lamb. Needless to say, puppy number one has yet to have a bath and he still won't give up the binky! So much for my good intentions!

Dinner Time

I finally did it...I let Logan try to feed himself. He made a mess. I had a hard time watching and trying to keep my hands to myself. I wanted to jump in and help, he eventually gave up the spoon and just started using his fingers. I figure he needs to be able to feed himself by the time Olive gets here since I only have two hands! And surprise, surprise, he actually eats more when I let him take control. He just has to have a bath every night after dinner...oh and in case you were wondering, I have since discovered that when a 15 month old is feeding themselves, they really should have on a bib or no clothes at all.

Frisbee at the Park

Logan loves to be outside, especially now that he can walk. Every time we put his shoes on him he thinks he is going out side. And if he isn't done when you bring him inside, believe me you will get an earful! Logan is much fun lately, he has turned into a crazy little boy who can't sit still for one moment. Although, I will say he discovered the T.V and cartoons this last week. It is amazing how tuned out he can be. Kind of scary, but at the same time it is nice to have something to distract him with sometimes...Am I a bad mom for admitting that?

Finally!

We have a walker in the house. Just one and a half weeks shy of 15 months, Logan has decided that walking is fun. Now, he just needs to master it in the next 4 1/2 months so I don't have to carry TWO babies around! Go Logan!

Broken...

tooth. Yesterday Logan decided to introduce his two front teeth to the porcelain kitchen floor tile. The tile hand a stronger hand shake and his right front tooth didn't make it out alive. Well...according to the dentist it is alive, just broken. He was at Grandma's house and the report is that he didn't even cry or seem to notice that a quarter of his tooth is missing. It breaks my heart that he doesn't have two big buck teeth anymore. The detist says we won't know if he will need a root canal until another six weeks when he goes back for an x-ray. I guess he will have a funky smile for the next six years. Oh well, I still think he is super cute.

The Dog Door!

I was wondering how long it would take before Logan discovered the doggy door. Well, today as I was cleaning the mud room he found it. Not only did he find the door, but he decided to help me clean by putting random stuff through the dog door. He is such a good helper!

Anniversary number three.

Scott and I will celebrate our 3rd anniversary on Tuesday the 16th of June. To celebrate we took a trip to San Diego this past weekend. We had so much fun, although it was hard to leave Logan behind. He stayed with my mom one night and with Scott's mom one night. I don't think he even knew we were gone. In San Diego Scott and I rented a Lamborghini and had so much fun driving a car that goes waaaaay too fast. Scott didn't know about the Lamborghini until we walked into the rental company that had brochure for "Luxury Car Rentals" and the guy at the desk asked me if we were there to "pick up the Lamborghini." I was so proud of my self for keeping my mouth shut for two whole weeks while I planned the rental. Our hotel was right on the beach which was awesome. We also went to the zoo, hung out on Coronado island and walked the beach. We had so much fun. Thank you Sarah and Mark for entertaining us all weekend!

Just in time for...

Christmas...Logan will be a big brother. For those of you who haven't yet heard, our family is growing by 1 heartbeat and 10 toes. We are expecting a new baby on November 30th, although I have a feeling this baby won't show up until December. We won't know what we are having for another three weeks, but we are so excited for this baby's arrival.

Dirt?!

Is dirt and grass bad for little boys? I was planting some flowers in the back yard yesterday and had set Logan down on a blanket to play. I figured he was safe since he hates the feel of grass on his bare skin. Anyway, I looked up after a few moments and Logan had creawled off his blanket and all the way over to a bare spot in the grass. He was digging in the dirt, eating it as well as pulling out the grass and eating it too. My first instict was to clean out his mouth...although now I wish I would have grabbed the camera first.

Birthday boy

Logan had the stomach flu the week before his birthday, but we decided to give him cake any way. I knew he would love it! He is such an eater! Scott had to show him how to eat the cake, but once he figured it out there was no stopping him. He actually made a lot of progress on his cake, and was totally devastated when I took it away from him.Logan's birthday was on the 19th of April...I can't believe he is already one. He is great crawler, loves to "talk" and watch the birds. He had a doctor appointment a couple of days after his birthday, he weighed in at 19.2 lbs and 30 inches long. He is in the 5% for weight and 50% for height. Which surprised me since he loves to eat so much.

Yard Work

I love this picture! Scott and Logan were doing yard work one COLD morning. You can't tell, but Scott has Logan attached to him in the moby wrap (I love that thing) and Scott's jacket conveniently has arm-pit zips so Logan could get his arms and hands free. Scott is so lucky to have such a great little helper!

Ready for the sun

In March we went to a family reunion in Mesa. Logan was so excited to get to wear his new swim suit and water shoes....well, except he wouldn't keep his shoes on. We had so much fun playing in the water and in the grass. It made me want to move somewhere where it is warm all the time! He loved to splash in the pool and even thought it was fun to try to drink the pool water! It was so nice to get to visit with family that we hardly ever see and to see Scott's grand-parents so that they could meet Logan.

Everyone's a Lobo

Yes, even Logan. I am going to lunch with friends from work today and Scott is watching Logan. Scott wanted to go to the Lobo basketball game, so he is taking Logan with him. I am a little sad because I wish I could be there, but also happy that Scott and Logan get to spend some time together. I am a little worried though because Logan has a double ear infection. Poor baby. He has had a cold for 10 days and then yesterday he got really sad and whiney and couldn't sleep. I could tell he was in pain, so I took him to the doc. After two doses of antibiotics he seems to be feeling well, so hopefully he can enjoy the basketball game!

Park

A few weekends ago in January we took Logan and the dogs to the park with some of our friends for the first time. Logan loved the swing and the slide. I can't wait till we have a swing-set and sand box in our back yard for him to play on all the time.

Bed Head

This is what Logan looks like when he wakes up! No wonder I can't sleep with him in the bed with me, he is a mover! !

Go Baby Go!

We now have a crawler in the house! Logan will be 9 months on Monday and just started crawling this Tuesday. I thought it would never happen. I am so excited that he figured it out...however I am a little terrified also. I guess I should baby proof the house. It is so neat to see him go, and he is learning so much more about the world now that he can actually move himself toward something he finds interesting. Right now he loves to throw and chase balls. Good thing Bunsen doesn't like to fetch and Scooter (with her one brain cell) can't figure out how, otherwise he might have some competition. Now...if only I could figure out how to attach some Swiffer cloths to his shins, knees and hands, maybe he could clean the floor some while he is exploring. I never realized how dirty the floor gets until now when his white socks are covered in a brown film. I guess instead of just vacuuming twice a day I will have to start mopping more than the usual once a week.

Good to be back!

I just finished reading the Twilight Series. I read the first book in 3 days, the second and third in 24 hours each and the last in about 36 hours. Whew! That is a lot of reading when you have a full-time job, a husband who works out of town most days and an 8 month old to take care. I am sure my husband, baby, dogs and house are happy to have me back. Who knew a grown adult could be so obsessed over a series of books about a teen-age girl who falls in love with a vampire! How embarrassing! Oh well. I just need to see the movie and then I feel like I will be ready to move on with my life. I might miss my new friends Edward and Bella though, although I am glad to finally know how their story ends! I might actually get some sleep too, not only was I staying up late to read I also spend most nights tossing and turning wondering about human-vampire relationships. Any body know of any good books I can get obsessed about now?

Help!!

Now that Logan has four teeth (two on top and two on bottom) I can't get him to stop grinding them. He grinds them and rubs them together all day long. It sounds very painful and I am kind of scared he is going to break them! Does anyone know how to get him to stop?

Bear!

Last night at around 10:00 pm I took the dogs out the front door to go potty before we locked them in for the night. Both Bunsen and Scooter refused to step foot off of the porch. So I stepped off of the concrete into the dirt to see if I could get the girls to follow me. As soon as I had two feet on the dirt I heard a very distinct "roar." It scared me half to death. I quickly turned around and lunged for the front door. The dogs were very slow to follow, they just stood at the porch looking into the dark night. After what seemed like forever they finally came inside and I shut and locked the door. I thought for sure there was a mountain lion on our front porch. (Well, actually my first thought was a vampire...I am reading Twilight after all.) I quickly woke Scott up just so he could help calm me down. Mountain lions have been known to drag people off into the mountains and eat them. Scott was half asleep and not too worried. I guess he thought I was inside the house when I heard the creature. This morning Scott went out to get the paper and inspected the snow in the front yard for tracks. The tracks seem to look more like a bear. I am relieved because I think bears are little less aggressive than mountain lions and also relieved to know that I wasn't just hearing things.

White Christmas (well, day after)

So we didn't get any snow on Christmas day, but the day after we got a lot of snow. It started as a hail storm and then quickly turned into white fluffy snow. Scott took the dogs for a walk just before the weather turned bad, he was gone for almost two hours in blizzard like conditions. I was almost ready to call "search and rescue" but it turns out he and the dogs were just enjoying the weather. He now has to take his cell phone with him whenever he goes walking.

Baby's First Christmas

Logan had so much fun on his first x-mas. Santa was very good to him. He seemed to like the wrapping paper and boxes that the gifts were stashed in rather than the actual gift however. Even still he had a lot of fun and we had so much fun introducing him to the Christmas tradition.
